When Valerie O’Neall pulled out the Every Little Piece scrapbook kit from Little Black Dress Kit Club in January 2013, I like to think she said, “Oh MY!” and that was the inspiration for this scrapbook page. Of course, that’s ridiculous, but it’s a fun thought. But when you look at the scrapbook layout at hand, it’s obvious that Valerie used something else as inspiration: shoes. It’s a classic inspiration for me, too. So I completely understand. I once created an entire mini album of shoes. (It was fabulous!) You should try it.

For today…check out Valerie’s Oh My Scrapbook Layout:

Favorite bits and pieces on Valerie’s Oh My Scrapbook page: The wood grain (it’s been an amazing showpiece on several layouts from different designers this month. You’re going to love it), the teensy “cute shoes” subtitle, the clear and simple use of the “oh my” for the title, the date stamp (bottom right), the hidden envelope/pocket peaking out from the side of the photo layering for journaling, and highlighted on this page….the buttons and trim from the January 2013 scrapbook kit.

Here’s a closeup of the scrapbook page:

Shoes….oh shoes. They are so lovely and so necessary at the same time so it’s hard for anyone to knock your love of them because…you NEED them. And what’s even better? TINY shoes. You got it. Tiny shoes are just cuter than any other version.

Have you scrapped any shoes lately? Think about it. You might be missing a great opportunity for inspiration.

We love Valerie! We suspect that she’s an amazing person in all aspects of life, but we KNOW for a fact that her scrapbook creations are beyond compare. And we can’t help but suspect that she put together this fantastic creation with the April 2012 Little Black Dress Kit Club kit because she loves us, too! She has to or she wouldn’t do such nice things with the scrapbook kits for us. Receiving the scrapbook project pics each month is one of the very most exciting parts of the job!

Valerie O’Neall’s 12×12 Watercolors Scrapbook Layout using the April 2o12 Scrapbook Kit:

I love the small stitched accents that Valerie throws in and I love how she can take what most would view as a small accent and turn it into a major page elemtn. Note some of our favorite aspects of the page: The titling turned journaling, the paint splatters combined with the very regimented paint stamping, the various “shape” combinations on the page, and the range of pictures that tell the story reflected in her journaling.

Check out some closeups:

We also love the additional interest created by her use of all the color (and the page’s focus on color/watercolors) in combination with the black/white photos of the actual event. Fantastic!

Here’s the So Sweet Layout by Amy Heller. And it is….so sweet!

Such a sweet photo…thus it is the perfect centerpiece for Amy’s So Sweet layout. Parts of this layout that jump out at me are; the vintage flashcard (I LOVE all things vintage…it’s a weakness of mine that I like to call a strength), the Brave Girls cards (both the little chicks and the “Beautiful Brave Girl” card), and the trims. We love Maya Arts trims. That pink polka is to die for!

You can see just how detailed and adorable the Brave Girl card is in this closeup. The glittery extras make it just that much more extra special. And you can also see the fun 3d addition of the pink flowers included in the miscellanous extra for the Sweet Bravery January kit. I love how she added rhinestones to the center of the flowers.

This shows just how excellent the pink pom pom trim is (it’s wired) and a closeup of the little embellishment that Amy put in the top left corner of the photo. I love that she added something on the photo. I forget to do that and sometimes it’s just the perfect thing to do! Love the Glitz Design glitzer/pink button/twine combo as well as Amy’s zig zag stitching.

Here you can see another closeup of a different trim from the kit as well as another sample of the Melody Ross inspiration cards (Brave Girl cards we call them) from GCD Studios. Love those little chicks!

Layering is the name of the game here. I love the combination of so many different elements. Makes for a fun page that I’d like to look at over and over.

More 12×12 layouts coming soon from Amy Heller. Come back for more soon!
