“Stephanie lives in North Carolina with her husband and two adorable kids, Anna (4) and Drew (2). She loves all things creative and has a slight obsession with paper and photography.  She started out with memory keeping through Project Life in 2011 and has not looked back yet.  Her style is simple, but classic with some occasional fun pops of color. ”

We’re so excited to see Stephanie Bryan join the design team here at Little Black Dress Kit Club. You’ll be just as excited once you see her first scrapbook projects start coming in this month. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night…tonight’s the night ladies and gentlemen. Are you going to track Santa’s progress using one of the online GPS systems capable of pinpointing him on the map? Are the kids going to stay up to catch him in the act? Is there an elaborate trap set for the reindeer on the roof? Have you been driving to look at Christmas lights? Are your gifts wrapped and placed under the tree with care? Did you already sing every Christmas carol you know? You’re in the mood then…for a little bit more fun and merriment. Tis the season! Here’s what the LBD Kit Club design team cooked up while they were feeling the spirit of Christmas this year.

And finally…a big Merry Christmas from Valerie O’Neall with her Christmas 12×12 Layout:

All that gold worked out so well for Valerie in this layout. It’s just gorgeous! Here’s the supply list and the closeups:

Merry Christmas from all of us here at LBD Kit Club! We hope you’re having a fabulous holiday season with friends and family and that the joys of the season have touched your life in some way.

Have you had a picnic lately? If you live in a cold weather area the answer is probably no. The perfect day for a picnic isn’t usually cold, blustery or icy. The perfect day for a picnic usually looks a little something like this:

Valerie O’Neall’s Perfect Day for a Picnic 12×12 Layout:

Valerie put this scrapbook layout together using the Little Black Dress Kit Club kit from December 2012. We called it the Swanky Notion kit. She pulled a variety of supplies from the scrapbook kit (check specific scrapbook supply list at the bottom of this post) and combined them and altered than and worked with them until she worked her magic…resulting in a scrapbook layout that is “almost perfect in every way.”

Check out the closeups to get an idea or two from Valerie on what you can do on your next layout, card or project:

And One more…

Do you feel the need for more details? Here you go! All the details as outlined by Valerie O’Neall, the designer of this scrapbook layout:

Instagram! Oh how we love you. Let me count the ways. We love that you are full of pictures of all types and colors. We love that you allow us to pretend that iPhones were around long enough to be portrayed in an image with a “vintage” look. We love you for your excessive hashtagging. We adore you for your ability to teach the masses how to journal with little to no words. We have so much love for you that we don’t know what to do with it!

But LBD Kit Club design team member, Katie Ehmann, had a spanking good idea. (She always has the best scrapbooking ideas, didn’t you know?) What do we always do with the things we love and adore…we scrapbook them, of course. Instagram deserves no less. We think everyone should include a page or two dedicated to Instagram in their next scrapbook album.

Instagram 12×12 Layout by Katie Ehmann using the November 2012 scrapbook kit, Handsome Pretty:

Adoration. Love. Admiration. Reverence (okay, that may be taking it a little bit too far). Just a little, I say. But we do have some very strong feelings about his page and about its subject. Or should we say subjects? Because when you’re messing with Instagram, you are messing with the ability to generate an endless array of photos as a dialogue for your life!

What do we love about this layout:

The happy paper she chose for the background. We hope there’s always a happy-making paper included in each LBD Kit Club scrapbook kit, but this one is one of the smiling-est!

We adore the simple adornment right across the middle left/right with the trim and vintage Bingo placers.

We also adore the polka alphas (obviously…or we wouldn’t have included them in the kit).

Lastly, we adore the method of photo printing.

CLOSEUP:

Have you not yet discovered a method of printing Instagram pics? Postal Pix is a good recommendation. Check it out. Have another Instagram printing app that you prefer? Share! We’d love to hear about it.

Everybody has a FAV! It’s important to know what it is and it’s important to know just what it can do for you. Some FAV’s can make a moment better. Some FAV’s can make a day better. Then there are the FAV’s that can make an entire WEEK better. Some might say that the FAV’s that make a week better really deserve some recognition. I think…EVERY FAV needs to have their moment in the limelight because sometimes making a moment better is so SO so necessary! If you haven’t yet identified your FAV’s…get on that! Your life will be so much more enjoyable.

Document your FAV’s so you never forget their importance in your day to day life (and maybe so they can serve as a hint to your loved ones who might sometimes need to know your FAV for their own purposes!)

My FAV 12×12 Layout by Jen Kinkade, using the Handsome Pretty Nov. 2012 scrapbook kit from Little Black Dress Kit Club:

We adore: The use of the stencil on the right side of the photo areas (who says you have to use it for misting), the way Jen used the star in the center of MY and FAVE. The use of the pink admission tickets (if only admission for ANYTHING was still 15 cents!), the deep red Teeny alphas from Glitz Design used against the notebook paper style paper, the black paint splatters against the wood grain pattern paper, the various paper patterns cut in strips and stitched on in the bottom right and top left corners, the simple typewriter style “guilty” that redefines the PLEASURE. Other important aspects of the page, the use of the spiral bound craft paper on the left side of the photo layering, the red on white twine/string on the right side of the photo, the tag to pull out from under the photo on the right side. Love a good pull tab/tag!

Thanks for sharing one of your FAV’s with us, Jen! We’re looking forward to enjoying more projects soon!
