Today’s featured 12×12 layout is by Stephanie Bryan. It’s called When I Close My Eyes. This scrapbook layout needed to be featured because it is a fantastic example of using white on white (it can pack quite a punch) as well as using your own personal touches on your scrapbooking projects to create a solid basis for the project (we adore her use of her own handwriting in the background matte). Check it out…and don’t forget to study the closeups, too!

Also make sure to check out: the use of the button as the “o” in the title, the way she left the sides of the chevrons loose with the middle stitched to add dimension, the complimentary photos overlapping, the Maggie Holmes clothespin (for decorative purposes only), the tiny bit of paint splatter to break up the white.

It’s always a Happy Day when we see a new project from Stephanie. I love how clean and gorgeous her projects are. Look for more on the LBD Facebook photos page or in the archives here on the LBD Kit Club blog.

Everyone loves some Maggie Holmes in their scrapbooking so when we sent out this month’s kit we knew we’d have some lovely and brilliant layouts and projects to show you here on the LBD Kit Club blog and other online photo albums. But we were still surprised by just how amazing our designers are. They always surprise us with new ideas and fabulous projects.

Check out this 12×12 layout Jamie Lieja simply called Maddie:

Supplies from the Miss Maggie May 2013 LBD Scrapbook Kit you’ll notice: Maggie Holmes decorative clothespins, an array of trims (lace, purple, red, etc.), and a variety of gorgeous papers!

Other things to notice: that amazing shot! (Can I say here that I NEVER get a good shot of my dog? He truly enjoys seeing me spend time with my face behind the lens of a camera I’ve decided). The handwritten journaling (and the way it echoes the script “print” on the scrapbook paper on the far left). Jamie’s titling alphas cut out from another of the scrapbook papers included in this month’s kit. (You don’t always have to use alphas provided or purchased in bulk at your local scrapbooking store! With all the handy cutting tools now available…you can feel free to make your own…CUSTOM!)

Valerie always sends in layouts that are simply the most fun! And this one is no exception. Valerie created this scrapbook page using the Little Black Dress Kit Club April 2013 scrapbook kit. We call it Don’t Worry Be Happy and it makes us appreciate this layout from Valerie even more due to the fact that this Jump layout is one of those perfect moments when worrying is the furthest thing from anyone’s mind.

Jump scrapbook layout by Valerie O’Neall:

Amazing parts of the scrapbook page include, but are not limited to: the Rummikub piece used so perfectly for titling/journaling, the green paint misted on the top right, the doodling, the book page as matte, the candy cane striped embroidery thread, the star pattern circles embedded in the blue polkas along the top of the page, etc. Valerie has a definite knack for making every project special. We love that about her.

Love the color combos here, love the banner tags as layering, love the ephemera used as journaling spot, love the lovely subtle colors against the gray patterned scrapbook paper of the background, love the trim along the edges of the photos, love the initial stamps, and love the corrugated cardboard incorporated on the side.

Check out the lovely titling here! She gazed in wonder at the world around her. Such a lovely, lovely concept!

Also notice here the woodgrain embellishment…HELLO. What a fabulous addition to the monthly kit!

You can see another one of the wood grain embellishments here. Love the combination of trims she used behind the cluster there in the top left corner of the photo as well.

Thanks for sharing some of your “wonder” with us, Jamie!

We know you always love the scrapbook projects sent in by Jenni Calma. We do, too! This is one of her latest using the March 2013 scrapbook kit, A Chance for Luck:

LOVED 12×12 Layout by Jenni Calma:

Things we love about this layout include: the wood grain embellishments, the juxtaposition of the photos, the vellum text as matte behind the photos, the use of ephemera from the scrapbook kit in layering, the block of color in the center, how the wood grain of the embellishments echo the wood grain of the scrapbook paper, and the use of cut out corrugated cardboard hearts stitched on as accents. Of course, there are many more little details to discover…so check out the closeups.

Love the antiqued edges of the tags and its use for journaling here as well as the use of the vintage rations stamps on the edge of the tag!

jc_purejoy,SmileLOVED3_mar13

Here you can see the great addition that stitching can add to your layout. Also notice the addition of a bit of color to reflect that block in the middle (teeny staples…do you have a tiny stapling tool? They’re very handy).

Always check back for more projects from Jenni and the other girls on the design team!
