Introducing May’s Scrapbook Kit: Miss Maggie

Suz Mannecke has been so kind as to participate as a member of the LBD Kit Club design team for the last several months. And we’ve loved every minute of it! We hope she has to! Today’s post is all about Suz and featuring her March 2013 scrapbook projects created with the Chance for Luck scrapbook kit. Don’t miss out on any of her projects here on the LBD Kit Club blog or any of the other social media outlets that provide you with access to the design team lovelies (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Pinterest, etc.) and make sure to comment and let Suz know that you’ll miss her! She’s not the only designer we’re saying goodbye to this month, either. (Insert sad face here). Getting There 12×12 Layout by Suz Mannecke -

Bits that we love include: the typewritten journaling (classic), the button embellishments, the layering, the arrow paper against the wood grain, the stamp in the bottom corner, the washi tape, the wood grain embellishment, etc. 

The best projects take a lot of “overtime” and we love the Suz was able to perfectly portray that here!

We always love a little decorate stitching with some real life, hold it to the page and never let it move purpose. Also notice the photo. Love that shot!

Then there’s her tribute to Old Man Winter with this amazing scrapbook page:

I love when it’s a “happy” day visit from Old Man Winter. I also love the banner used for typewritten journaling here on Suz’s layout.

In the full layout you can appreciate the use of stitching to provide a border for the title, the amazing effect of all that layering, the vintage rations stamps tacked on with some stitched on ric rac, Old Man Winter himself playing card back, the great use of the envelope/pocket for extra, hidden journaling, the buttons, the trim…ack! It’s all fabulous.

Awww. That stitching accenting the T is perfection!

I like how Suz added some color and extra pizazz to the wood embellishment here…it creates some new, fun possibilities.

Don’t you just love all the little details that make it so fun to stare at Suz’s projects. I know you do. Me too.

This is a great shot to show the stitching that Suz added throughout the paper pattern to accentuate the chevron pattern. Very cool!

Don’t you just adore what Jamie was able to do with her kit supplies here? We know we do! We particularly adore: the rounded corners mixed with square corners, the creation of the centerpiece circle using the variety of scrapbook paper patterns, the hello cutout in vellum, the staples for deco/adhesion of elements, and the misting of color that peeks through the tulle.

I love making cards like this to keep on hand so that I have them when I need them. And I adore Jamie’s hello card style. For more projects from Jamie, check here on the blogs, the scrapbook Ideas page or the Facebook photo albums.

We all love a little bit of horseplay…and Alyssa McGrew managed to perfectly portray that fantastical bit of horseplay that we all love to indulge in now and then here on one of her March 2013 scrapbook layout submissions. Horseplay can come in many shapes and forms, but when there’s a carousel horse in the picture (literally or figuratively) it’s almost guaranteed that there’d be a bit of “horseplay” in the mix. Just horsin’ around, but if that’s just horsin’ around then Alyssa has some magic hands because it came together for an amazing final project! Things we love about this layout include: the chevron pattern added to the background scrapbook paper in gray, the LAYERING (all caps because it’s just worth the extra noise) and the seemingly nonchalant placement that just could not have been accidental! Love it, Alyssa. Love it!
