I love a good fashionista. And I love a good scrapbook layout celebrating the diva side of a fellow scrapper. Today we’re inviting Jamie to take a bow because not only are her scrapbooking projects and layouts amazing, but this particular 12×12 layout is proof that she’s got some amazing fashionista tendencies to boot! Love it.

The Fashion 12×12 Layout by Jamie Leija:

Fashion love aside…what do we love about this stylish layout?

The way she glitzed up the page and the embellishments with the glitter and paint (on the alphas and on the background scrapbook paper).

The border created with various paper bits and trims and how they don’t all match up and create an even line around the edging.

The awesome photo layout/printing with white text on the top left. Fabulous!

If you have an Uncle like mine then you know that they’re simply the best. So it’s not surprising when they crop up in some pretty great moments in our lives. And since those are the moments that we like to remember…they crop up in the scrapbooking albums frequently as well!

What do I love most about this layout Valerie put together? It’s hard to say because she always creates something that is well worth loving (and looking at again and again, over and over). Here are a few things we think should definitely be taken into account by anyone checking out Valerie’s latest 12×12 layout:

the patterned stitching (same color as the background page, but offering a great basis for well placed journaling, etc.)

the colorful paint splatters

the Freckled Fawn wood embellishment cartoon bubble

the combo pattern circle matte and embellishments (love that she mixed the patterned paper together)

the pen sketches/doodles as borders around the circles

I adore happy faces, don’t you? I also adore little kids’ depictions of the people that they love. Why not take a page from LBD Kit Club’s April 2013 guest designer, Tara Anderson, and create a mini album to feature the adorable sketches of the little people in your life? It’s a fabulous idea. We adore it. We know you will, too!

Tell me you don’t adore that. I won’t believe you if you follow through on that request. This is a fabulous method of documenting a child’s perceptive of your family or a gift for someone who loves the little one as much as you.

Let’s flip through and see the happy faces documented here in this fabulous mini album for all time:

Always give credit where credit is due…love that Tara noted that the artwork was “by: Chase, Age 4″ right on the cover of this mini album. TA_happyFaces3_apr13

Next time you’ve got Happy Faces…put them all in one place and keep them forever with a Happy Faces mini album. It will make you smile every time you look at it.

Supplies used to create this project came from the April 2013, Don’t Worry Be Happy scrapbook kit from LBD Kit Club. Supplies used that were not included in the kit: carnival ticket, binder ring.

Am I allowed to admit that this scrapbook layout from Jamie Leija is one of my all time favorites? You gotta’ love a layout with a great story, right? Check out Swell Guys 8.5 x 11 layout by Jamie.

You know that Jamie’s really good at what she does because…I’m not usually into censoring, but in this case, it made me smile. I love Jamie’s scrapbooking of a story here. Also loved are: the paint splatters, the “summarizing” or journaling in addition to the full story, the wood grain Freckled Fawn embellishments, the washi tapes, etc. Jamie’s style is so fun and carefree. It makes me smile.

Jamie put this layout together using the Little Black Dress Kit Club scrapbook kit released in April 2013, Don’t Worry be Happy!

Project Life! You can’t turn a corner in the scrapbooking industry without hearing all about it. Except that if you haven’t actually delved in, you may be just nodding your head and smiling when the topic comes up and wondering…WHY PROJECT LIFE? Get the nitty, gritty details and see some examples from some of the Little Black Dress Kit Club design team members today. And you can stop acting like your favorite aunt who refuses to admit that she can’t hear as well as she used to the next time the subject comes up. Instead you’ll actually be able to jump in with your own opinion and support of this new scrapbooking method!

Why Project Life? To get you the good stuff we checked out the info provided by the creator of the popular new scrapbooking method (Becky Higgins). Here’s the gist of what she had to say about the new scrapbooking craze!

“Project Life is a back-to-basics approach to memory-keeping. This system is so simple, that it’s revolutionary,” Becky Higgins said.

The most popular reasons behind the instantaneous LOVE of Project Life amongst scrapbookers everywhere are:

  • Less Stress
  • Less Time Invested in Individual Projects
  • New Skills to Learn and Enjoy
  • Less Guilt
  • More Value
  • Cheap Therapy

Need more info? Read on…and then, check out Project Life projects from the LBD design team members! You’ll love it! And it will get you inspired to get your own Project Life moving!

Most see Project Life as a scrapbooking solution. It makes the process more simple and lets scrapbookers and memory keepers have more time to spend making memories rather than devoting every last second to preserving the ones already captured digitally. There’s no glue, scissors, tools, or fancy crafting skills necessary. (Can you say, Ahhhhh). This is not only a great decrease in stress levels for beginners and veteran scrapbookers alike, but it’s a money saver. How many of you have ever added up how much you’ve spent purchasing glue and adhesives throughout a busy scrapbooking year? (I don’t actually recommend doing it. It’s oddly disturbing. That was simply rhetorical. Just know that you don’t want to know).

The benefits of Project Life scrapbooking come from the design of the products. They take the guess work out of the layout design. Scrapbookers get to focus on recording their special moments with photos and journaling. It’s a new method that’s bringing us full circle; back to the beginning where it all began. That said, the design is trendy and styling. It means the opportunity to create more pages in less time.

The creator of Project Life was obviously inspired by her personal life. She’s a busy mom and wife who has been heavily involved in scrapbooking and knows the amount of time required for dedication in this particular industry. She named it Project Life because it’s designed to be all about LIFE. And not just any life, but YOUR LIFE. It’s whatever you need it to be; because everyone’s life is going to be different; different people, different memories, different life stages, different circumstances, different lifestyles, etc. Regardless of who, when or where you are…Project Life makes it easier to get your photos, journaling and memories…into a book!

Consider trying it if you haven’t yet…it’s said to be the best way to stop connecting scrapbooking with the guilt on never getting it all done! It gives you freedom. And once you’re at that moment when you feel more free than guilty…you’ll be able to see just how creative and fabulous you can be! It can be as simple or as intensely crazy creative as you want; depending on your mood and your time requirements! That’s why so many people love it.

That said…there are plenty of Project Life products out there as well as products by varying designers that coordinate and fulfill Project Life requirements. The method is taking over the world…once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll see just how versatile it can be!
