Letter Learning 12×12 Layout by Alyssa McGrew

Sometimes I save my favorites until the very, very last. I do it with my favorite part of the Kit Kat (the wafer coated in sugar, of course). I do it with the best part of a family vacation (anything with a roller coaster is meant to be the climax at the end of the trip). I do it with my scrapbooking supplies (sometimes I love a paper so much that I can’t force myself to use it on anything because then I won’t have it anymore). And…sometimes I do it with Little Black Dress Kit Club design team projects. I saved a couple of my favorites from the DT ladies until the last bit of the month this time for sure. Family Double Page Layout by Keri Babbitt

We’ve all got family. They may be blood relations. They may be friends we could never do without. They may be people we love to hate. they may be people we just can’t imagine not having around. Regardless of who, what, when, where or why…who do you consider family? And have you scrapped about them lately?

Here’s a fantastic idea from Keri Babbitt for a 2-page spread layout all about FAMILY.

Who doesn’t love a month by month play by play? Sometimes it’s the only way to keep things in perspective. Here Keri used the Lucky Penny kit to it’s max potential and brought the year home with 12 photos for 12 months of good times.

Things to love about this double layout: The little wooden family in the left top corner “framed”, the stamping that gives it a little extra fun “umph,” the journaling, the scallop edge of the cloud paper at the top (it’s only appropriate) and the way she so effortlessly continued the layout design through both 12×12 pages.

This is a great use for Instagram photos printed off using one of the popular apps (I’ve used PostalPix). To add captions prior to submitting to Instagram, you can use a variety of apps, but my favorite is Phonto.

Mini Album by Month by Suz Mannecke – LBD Lucky Penny Kit, August 2012

I’m so easily distracted by a good mini album. I don’t know exactly what it is. It’s a weakness of mine. It could have something to do with the fact that they’re, like, tiny. Everything’s cuter when it’s tiny. Blinged out jeans are at their best in a size 00. That teeny, tiny grape on the bunch with the rest gets all the attention with the oohing and aahing before it finally gets chomped. And then there are babies. Babies are so squirelly and troublesome and helpless and TINY. Luckily, for the sake of humanity, the only descriptive term that means ANYTHING is that they are TINY! That translates to adorable, sweet, lovable and simply irresistible. “Awww…it’s so tiny!” or “Awww…she’s so tiny!” or “Awww….he’s so tiny!” Don’t deny that at least one of these strings of words have come out of your mouth at some point during your life or we’ll have to mark you down as a filthy liar. You might as well join the mob. (But make it a “tiny” mob so that we can think it’s kinda cute, would ya?)

The POINT is that THIS mini album is going to have to be my favorite for a while. Suz somehow managed to take my love of the mini album and turn it into an obsessive, crazy love for the “tiny” album. You’ll love it.
