Do you love making Greeting Cards? Here are two more projects by Jan H for you to pull ideas from! She’s got the Hello card featuring a classy and fun yellow/black color combo. You’ll notice the Glitz Design vintage wings Rubons are a big part of the visual on the front. She used the butterfly on an additional layer of paper so it could be given a 3d look. She also backed the included black flower (love those miscellaneous items) with a piece of the black/white tissue paper and it’s a great look!

Jan’s Make A Wish card features a flower of the black/white tissue paper, buttons, some trim from the kit, a Glitz Design journaling spot and the American Craft thickers in glittery black.

This fabulous 12×12 layout speaks for itself. I love the general “layout” of the page. I like the way that Jan accented the photo of the “lassie” to the left of the page. Too often we all focus on the center as the “place to be” for the photo and that’s just not always the best spot. Jan’s included a variety of great kit pieces on this page. My particular favorite elements on this layout are the gold trim, the buttons, and the layered pieces in the bottom right corner.

Jan’s Smokin’ 12×12 layout is just…SMOKIN! Love it! And love the costume, by the way! This page incorporates a couple fabulous papers from the October kit, the American Craft thickers, the Jenni Bowlin chalkboard alpha tiles, the Glitz Design journaling spots, the Glitz Design Vintage Wings rubons, and a few of the misc. elements that make the kits so fun! I love how she used the Haunted House paper. Sometimes the papers with “big picture” elements are hard to incorporate into a layout without taking away from the photo/journaling that needs to be the center of attention. Jan did it perfectly!

We always love Jan’s projects as well as the other girls on the design team. We’re looking forward to seeing what they come up with for November. You’d do well to look forward to it, too!

Layouts, layouts, layouts…you can’t really get enough layout ideas for the basic 12×12 layout! Here’s another fabulous layout from Francine using the Little Black Dress October Romance at Dusk kit:

This is Francine’s 12×12 Challenge Layout.

Francine’s “big picture” is always pleasurable. The overall look of the page always seems to be pleasing to the eye. She may just have a knack for placement, but if you’d like to get a little of that in your own layouts…try laying things out prior to adhering them. Or you can get adventurous…you can buy one of the “undo” products that allow you to adhere to the page and then change your mind and “undo” what you’ve already glued!

I love how Francine placed the Glitz Design Vintage Wings butterfly rubon right on top of her fantastic layering of the black/white tissue and the yellow/lace trim. The messy pleats in the tissue paper give it an extra bit of dimension, too.

In this close up you can see some of Francine’s journaling right on one of the stickers from the Glitz Design vintage journaling sticker pack. I love handwritten journaling. I think it makes it that much more personal!

Notice how Francine added Jenni Bowlin chalkboard tile alphas in the “midst” of the American Craft Thickers (black and glittery). It’s such a fun and clean look at the same time. And that’s kind of a difficult combo to achieve! My 2010 Challenge…by Francine!
