Have I mentioned my penchant for tags…well I also have a slight obsession with pockets. And Amy’s latest 12×12 layout makes me wonder if she’s been eavesdropping in my head ‘cuz…seriously LOVIN’ all the tags and pockets on her Outside Again 12×12 layout.

PHOTOS REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION! CONGRATULATIONS AMY! Watch for Amy’s Outside Again layout in the October Issue of Scrapbook Trends.

You can’t tell me that’s not an amazing array of secret tags, lovely pockets and delicious designs!

Check out some closeups:

Amy’s signature twined buttons, and stitched edges with some fun miscellaneous pieces from the vintage bag in the April kit.

Leaf pins, wood grain pebbles, butterfly cutouts, silk leaves…the April’s miscellaneous pieces were a great bunch.

We love combining classic teeny alphas with big or “loud” alphas.

Love LOve LOVE the alternating between zig zag and straight stitches and the fact that Amy not only decorates with her stitching but uses it to actually provide strength to her embellishments.

Sometimes my imagination can run away from me…you might even say it gets a bit WILD! So any of you who know me won’t be surprised when I tell you that I couldn’t stand not to ask Amy if the elephant in the photo was a real elephant or not. I just had to KNOW because I could somehow imagine a place where you were allowed to walk right up and love on one of the massive beasts without risk of injury (or wasting a day signing your life and future health away with countless waivers). Alas…this time it actually WAS all in my imagination!

But that doesn’t change the fact that Amy’s Wild 12×12 layout is just that…WILD!

And never skip out before checking out the closeups!

Here you can see Amy’s use of the corrugated cardboard to give the photo a dimensional background and an extra pop to stand out from the page as well as a few of the fun, unique elements from the vintage miscellaneous bag from the April kit. The butterflies go so well with the Rhinestone bows.

Here you can see just how perfect the elephant photo was for this month’s kit…especially the kit that showed up on Amy’s doorstep. Her vintage vocab flashcard happened to be for “elephant.”

We always love and appreciate Amy’s layering. And it’s always fun to see papers, whatnots, die cuts, and vintage embellishments all gathered into the mix.

We love the use of the Guest check in the midst of Amy’s layering here…upside down, sideways…don’t let the rules limit you. Do what works!

And here’s one last shot where you can see one of Amy’s tricks that we can appreciate on on both the visual and practical levels: a layer of stitching along the bottom of the large alphas used in the title. Not only does it look great, but it avoids that annoying hassle of later realizing that there’s a letter missing from one of your lovely layouts! Stitching them on is like insurance that you’ll never have to deal with that sort of thing!

Thanks so much Amy! Another layout that we all love to look at! And more to come soon…

We all have those things that we just love. That book that is so intense that we don’t even hear the phone ring. Or that movie that we are so into that we can watch it over and over without taking a break in between. Or that shoe department that nothing could mke us walk by without stopping no matter how much of a hurry we’re in. It’s called FOCUS! And focus is SUCH a good thing. We just have to learn to direct it at the right areas. Like the funnies in the newspaper, for instance.

U Have Focus 12×12 Layout by Amy Heller:

I love the Amy used pieces of the HUGE alphas in her layering alongside the fabulous butterflies, array of buttons, whatnots and vintage book pages, etc. And you just can’t miss the zig zag stitch along the edge of the full layout.

Ahhh. lovely butterflies…lovely buttons….lovely stitching. Looks even better up close, doesn’t it?

Amy always likes to draw even more attention to the vintage buttons in the kits with twine. And we love how she has this one popped and backed with a burst of color.

Look at that…YOU have focus. You’ve made it all the way to the bottom of the post. Yeah for you! Scrapbooking is a fabulous thing to spend some of your “focus” on. Keep it up. Come back and check out more projects soon.

Aww…sleepy love is one of the good things! And doesn’t that picture just exemplify the essence of a fantastic nap? Love it!

I love how Amy uses stitching so carefully to simultaneously strengthen her layouts and add the perfect embellishment that subtly points the eye to the focus of the layout.

Here you can see a closeup of the title…they don’t always have to be BIG. I love how this title is small in comparison to the free space of the page and I love the combination of simple black/white letters and the colorful letters on top.

The closeups give you a pretty good idea of how to create similar looks yourself and we encourage all of you to give it a try. Some of the LBD projects each month are featured in video tutorials so you can check for updates on which projects have video tutorials each month here on the blog or on the LBD Facebook page.

And if you make your own Sleepy Love 12×12 layout…post it to the LBD Facebook wall to share it with the rest of us. We wanna see!

GNO, Chick Flicks, Bunco, Crop Night, Girls’ Night Out, Girly Time…it’s all the same. And in one word it’s all…NECESSARY! There’s nothing like spending some time with the “girls!” (And it’s even better if you can do it in your little black dress or WITH your latest Little Black Dress Kit!

Having said that…here’s “girly time” as seen through the eyes of LBD Design Team Member, Amy Heller:

Awww…I haven’t had a pedicure lately and seeing this layout makes me remember that I NEED one! Immediately. I love how Amy recreated the look of the old time film strip with the black and white photos and how she laid them out on the page. I love the subtle background with the boost of color in the papers layers behind the title. And the HUGE alphas are major fun every time I see them.

There’s nothing quite as fabulous as being able to add some yummy flowers to a page without sitting down and painstakingly creating them youself. So we had a lot of love went our way regarding the fabric flowers included in the Black Tie Love Affair kit.

Love all the little rhinstone additions Amy added. This layout had such a great combination of HUGE and TINY! Huge alphas and tiny alphas and HUGE white space and tiny bursts of color, etc.

Here you can see the teeny tiny alphas  and the vintage wooden bingo chips.

Check out how Amy used the HUGE alpha parentheses to create a cool border for her photos and we lvoe the extra stitching. It’s extra cool alongside the edge of a thick page addition like these alphas.

Watch for more LBD Design Team member creations and guest designer creations coming up! And don’t miss out on the Little Black Dress Kit Club birthday celebrations! Stay tuned for giveaways and fun contests.
