Have we mentioned lately that more is almost ALWAYS better? At least that’s what I believe. That’s just one of the MANY, MANY reasons why I love the Supplies 12×12 layout Keri Babbitt put together using the May 2012 Time Flies kit from Little Black Dress Kit Club. I always love what goes on in the heads of the design team here at LBD Kit Club, but this particular layout calls out to me in so many ways. And all of them are based on the fact that MORE is simply a good thing in my mind. I love that Keri is obviously encourages her kids to love the need for “more” supplies each school year. I hold a similar love of the restocking of general school supplies each and have no idea what I will do when I have no need for lined notebook paper on a regular basis. I love that Keri shows just how much using MORE color can do for the end result of a fun layout. This layout has the color to draw the eye of even the most ADD friend or family member. I love that Keri shares my love for MORE embellishments. Try to pick your favorite. You won’t be able to do it. Try to decide which one you’ll leave off when you make your own version of Keri’s layout. You’ll have a really hard time deciding and you’ll like your layout a little less because it isn’t as “MORE” as Keri’s. Lastly, and possibly most importantly, Keri created the perfect example of creating additional (or MORE) scrapping space on a 12×12 layout by incorporating a perfect foldout for additional photos and journaling. Are you completely intrigued and want to see MORE? (Insert respectful snicker here). Alright…read on. Pictures are coming right up.
Keri Babbitt’s Color Magic Supplies 12×12 Layout using the May 2012 Kit from LBD Kit Club, Time Flies:
Do you see what I mean? There’s so much to love that it’s hard to decide where to start! I’ll tell you a few things I love and then you can tell me a few things you love and we’ll move on from there. I love the addition of the pink grid under the photo matting at the top and bottom of the page. I love Keri’s use of the various trims (tied around the photo…umm LOVE it!) and along the bottom in an array of fun patterns and paper cutouts for a fantastic finished layered look. And…I can’t not mention how fun it is that she used her stitching to attach the trim under the photo and even threw in a few gathers on the left side. It makes me smile and love when a project makes someone looking at it smile.
Time for CLOSE UPS! You love it even more now, don’t you? It’s much easier to see the fun gathers in the trim, some of the more detailed paper patterns, the dimension that she created on the page with the popped photo and layering, etc. and the use of product packaging. I love when the packaging of our scrapbook products can actually be used in the course of a project. Can you find the product packaging Keri put to use here? It fit in perfectly!
And here you can see the crazy and wild and inspired foldout that Keri created under her photo. Do you love it as much as I do? It’s so much more fun when you have room to tell the entire story and provide a full photo montage. I so approve of Keri’s layout. I so approve of her beautiful girl’s back to school choices…Hello Kitty is always a fabulous decision.
