Everyone loves some Maggie Holmes in their scrapbooking so when we sent out this month’s kit we knew we’d have some lovely and brilliant layouts and projects to show you here on the LBD Kit Club blog and other online photo albums. But we were still surprised by just how amazing our designers are. They always surprise us with new ideas and fabulous projects.

Check out this 12×12 layout Jamie Lieja simply called Maddie:

Supplies from the Miss Maggie May 2013 LBD Scrapbook Kit you’ll notice: Maggie Holmes decorative clothespins, an array of trims (lace, purple, red, etc.), and a variety of gorgeous papers!

Other things to notice: that amazing shot! (Can I say here that I NEVER get a good shot of my dog? He truly enjoys seeing me spend time with my face behind the lens of a camera I’ve decided). The handwritten journaling (and the way it echoes the script “print” on the scrapbook paper on the far left). Jamie’s titling alphas cut out from another of the scrapbook papers included in this month’s kit. (You don’t always have to use alphas provided or purchased in bulk at your local scrapbooking store! With all the handy cutting tools now available…you can feel free to make your own…CUSTOM!)

Introducing February’s Scrapbook Kit: A Stitch in Time

It’s the One Little Word scrapbook challenge. When the Little Black Dress Kit Club design team started to get their January 2013 kits (VERY late in the month, btw) the idea was thrown out by Valerie that everyone think about putting together a project on “One little word.” The challenge very quickly became known as the OLW project challenge. I love the idea of sifting through the goals, resolutions and “to do’s” crowding around in my head at the start of a new year and identifying just one thing or just One Little Word to focus on! Here’s what the LBD Kit Club Design Team came up with when they though about it!

Favorites of this scrapbook page: the teensy tags and repeated patterns, the “jar” full of words, the journaling, the clear elements mixed in with the layering, etc.

We’re on board with Jenni’s inability to choose one word even though…we love the idea. It’s a tough project to tackle! Jenni created this 12×12 layout using bits and pieces from Little Black Dress Kit Club’s January 2013 scrapbook kit: Every Little Piece. One Little Word (OLW) by Katie Ehmann became…. the Renew 12×12 Layout:

This gorgeous page by Katie Ehmann makes me want to RENEW my efforts to get on the ball in 2013. I love it! I love Katie’s method of using the OLW project to bring so much meaning to a project. She did it so simply – adding the word’s definition/all the word’s definitions. The English language is completely amazing in its ability to use one “little” word to bring so much meaning and so many other words to mind all at the same time!

Favorite pieces of the page: the teensy sequin strip used under the title, the tiny staples used to attach elements, the confetti stars (adore!), the scrapping and the light/dark used on the page.

If you haven’t yet broken into your January kit…it’s time! And if you haven’t yet made any New Year’s Resolutions…maybe you could start the year off by tackling the One Little Word Challenge like the LBD Kit Club designers. It’s a great way to get moving in 2013.
