If you haven’t yet checked out any of Kim Stewart’s projects for Little Black Dress Kit Club…today is a great day to start. The Pretty 12×12 layout by Kim using the May scrapbook kit from LBD (Time Flies, May 2012) is a terrific example of how to combine various pieces of the kit to create lovely layouts and accentuate your stories through photos.

We all remember blowing bubbles, but do any of us remember blowing bubbles with our noses? Well, thanks to his Momma, this little one is going to remember that he blew bubbles with his nose at one point in his life. And who would want to forget something like that? It’s unique, it’s original, it’s awesome. And it’s your story. Stories make the BEST scrapbook pages.

Check out the 12×12 Bubbles scrapbook Layout by Valerie O’Neall. She used products from the May 2012 Time Flies Kit from Little Black Dress Kit Club:

I love how this layout seems to combine the concise with the spontaneous. You’ve got the concise arrangement of floral punch outs with the spontaneous presentations of varying colors and patterns through the white card stock. You have the concise printing of the “bubble through the nose story” combined with the smattering of paint/color just darker than the background 12×12 scrapbook paper. You’ve got the title alphas (Heidi Swapp’s alphas from the May kit that soak up your color) arrayed slightly haphazardly and attached with the very concise and very serious straight stitching along the bottom. Need I go on?

I also love the addition of white paint under the title for additional emphasis, the lone heart at the end of the bubble story journaling, and the size/layout of the page’s photos.

Also don’t miss the rubons Valerie added on the actual photos. Don’t be afraid to scrap right ON your photos if need be. Just make sure that you’re adding to the final product rather than taking something away that the photo would have added if you hadn’t covered a portion of it up! (RubOns and heart sticker were both part of the Heidi Swapp embellishment package in the May Time Flies kit).

You have to admit, that’s a good story. And everyone loves a good story; especially when it’s their own and they can remember it again every time they read it. What’s your story? Have you scrapped it yet?

If you haven’t received your kit yet, it should be on its way soon. If you haven’t ordered yours yet…get on that! They might not last long.

Pinterest…it is one of the most addictive substances to hit the market since the beginning of time. Or that could just be us, but we don’t think so. Have you been exposed yet? If not, we have to warn you, set aside some time each day. It’s going to be your new love. One of the LBD Kit Club designers, Keri Babbitt, loved it so much that she scrapped about it this month. We SO approve. Check out the Pinterest 12×12 Layout from Keri Babbitt using the May 2012 Time Flies scrapbook Kit from Little Black Dress Kit Club:

I love The entire idea of Keri’s Pinterest scrapbook layout. “Pinterest made me do it.” That happens to me all the time. Such honest journaling and titling really lends authenticity to the page. I adore that she has recorded some of her activity due to Pinterest through both a list of projects tried as well as the series of pictures.

Check out the closeups:

I adore the combo of paper patterns and colors she chose from the kit as well as her layering of embellishments and alphas, etc. I also like the typewritten journaling look, the added color to the Heidi Swapp Color Magic: Letter Box Alphas (it’s so fun to see them in action, isn’t it?) and the stitching in the accent red color. Perfect.

Keri obviously “liked” Pinterest…you will, too. If you aren’t yet addicted…get addicted! It’s the healthiest, most productive addiction you’ll find. Inspiration and new ideas and instructions for long lost projects galore. While you’re at it…follow LBD on Pinterest. We post monthly kits pics and monthly design team projects regularly. I better go. Pinterest is calling my name.

Have you noticed some changes to the LBD Design Team? We’re making some adjustments, saying goodbye to some old friends, welcoming new ones and hopefully, continuing to offer Little Black Dress Kit Club members that chance to get new ideas and inspiration through the LBD Facebook page, the LBD Blog, the scrapbook Ideas page, Pinterest, Twitter, etc. When you get your monthly scrapbook kit club package in the mail we want you to have tons of ideas to work with. It just makes it all the more fun!

If you’re stuck and you don’t know what you want to do with your monthly scrapbook kit or you simply want to try something new and different than your normal style, we suggest you consider the design team’s creations. Here’s the first peek at this month’s projects from the design team!

Face 12×12 Layout by Ginny Hughes:

Scrapbook page elements that I love on this layout: The heart border across the bottom. I love how the hearts overlap like a paper chain of sorts. I love the perfect color coordination between the hearts and the background chevron page and the way the payers of the papers alone make them provide a great contrast. I also love Ginny’s photo, the use of the pink alphas, colorful dots, and the “I love it” addition at the top right of the page. Check out closeups below.

Yum 12×12 Layout by Valerie O’Neall:

Favorite scrapbook elements on Valerie’s 12×12 layout include: the stitching that provided a grid for her pictures and left places for title, journaling, embellishments, etc. The typed journaling is a classic favorite and the added loops of trip on the right and left side of the center gathering of photos/embellishments is fantastic. It adds an entirely different dimension to the page and adds a lot of fun to the finished look. Check out the closeup below.

Beauties 12×12 Layout by Keri Babbitt:

What do I love most about this layout? I love the finished look, but I specifically love the polaroid style matting with journaling. Other scrapbook elements on the page that are fantastic: the floral cutouts, the use of sporadic gatherings of paper dots, the stacking/layering of titling/words on the left of the photos and the buttons with dark stitching. Check out closeups below.
