No one knows how to make a scrapbook kit look good quite like Valerie O’Neall. So we’re lucky that she’s on the LBD Kit Club design team, aren’t we? Check out this months’ featured layout from Valerie O’Neall, the No. One 12×12 Layout:

I adore Valerie’s use of the chevron in various sizes, patterns and colors to create the central circle pattern for this layout. The addition of snowflakes cut out of vintage book pages break up the pattern and add a little something extra to the finished page. I love the multiple photos that tell the story and the way Valerie titled the page and mimicked her placement of the photos inside a circle at the same time with the “ONE” card.

Today’s featured 12×12 layout is by Stephanie Bryan. It’s called When I Close My Eyes. This scrapbook layout needed to be featured because it is a fantastic example of using white on white (it can pack quite a punch) as well as using your own personal touches on your scrapbooking projects to create a solid basis for the project (we adore her use of her own handwriting in the background matte). Check it out…and don’t forget to study the closeups, too!

Also make sure to check out: the use of the button as the “o” in the title, the way she left the sides of the chevrons loose with the middle stitched to add dimension, the complimentary photos overlapping, the Maggie Holmes clothespin (for decorative purposes only), the tiny bit of paint splatter to break up the white.

There’s nothing quite like going cruising with or without a destination in mind. The point isn’t where you’re going…it’s that the windows are down and the music is UP! I adore how Brittany included the lyrics and the simple way she displayed them on banner style paper strips. Fabulous.

Notice how fun the juxtaposition of the words are with the title perpendicular to the banner strips with the song lyrics on the right side of the page. We also love the bit of stitching and the rhinestone accents.
