It's a Good Day mini album: August Kit Project Idea
Mini albums…they’re an obsession of mine. I think it’s for the same reason that itsy bitsy grapes are cute and tiny oranges are more fun to eat. Little stuff is just cuter than big stuff. (That’s obvious whenever I try on an outfit that drew my eye in a size 0).
So check out the latest mini album obsession. It’s called the “It’s a Good Day” mini album and it was put together using the August Little Black Dress Kit.
Here’s another view of the cover…
We’ve all got good days and we’ve all got bad days. And there’s nothing more pleasurable than having a handy dandy notebook (or mini album in this case) filled with the good ones…laid out there with sweet journaled reminders so we can remember the good days we’ve had. The August kit was packed with vintage goodies that made it easy to make the pages fun and unique. A few favorite eclectic kit pieces included: the green houndstooth tissue paper, the wax and seal from 7 Gypsies, purple sequin strip, the myriad buttons, the trim…the list could go on for a while here.
But instead of continuing with my chatter… more pics!
This page commemorated a “good day” little boy style. The fact that they’re covered in mud means it HAD to be a good day, right? The background is a vintage book page and the photo is accented by a page length flower made of the red trim included in the kit, corrugated cardboard, more vintage book page, a red embroidered circle and a wooden bingo chip included in the kit.
It’s US (cut out of corrugated cardboard, no less) and any day we can get a photo of all of us together and all looking halfway decent, halfway “like” ourselves and halfway happy…it’s definitely a Good Day worthy of inclusion in the It’s a Good Day mini album.
Looking for a unique and fun way to journal an event that’s going to need more space than the normal tucked around the edge of the picture style? Try creating your own envelope and tucking a card inside with all your details. This one was accented with tons of vintage pieces and one of the Melody Ross cards included in the kit. They were amazing!
Day trip to the Dinosaur Park…this page layout used the map page included in the kit for the background and a mini vintage playing card as the foundation of the collection of “pendant style” sayings that were cut from the 12×12 page.
This page incorporateed a Melody Ross card (Embracing Change), the purple pearl trim, and the green houndstooth tissue paper (pleated for extra fun).
There were more pages in the book, of course…when it comes to the It’s a Good Day mini album…extravagance was the name of the game. One more page? Nah…let’s do 3 more. And next year I hope the It’s a Good Day mini album is even thicker!
